Case Study
FSU Presidency is the campaign of Bernardo for the Fanshawe Student Union's 2025 elections. The project's goals was to create a brand identity and design publications within 3 months, which included printed posters, social media content, photography, in-person marketing, advertising, and a website that supported his candidacy.

The theme begins with the vibrant blue and red-orange colours to represent trust and energy. This differs from the red brand used by Fanshawe to create distinction between the two in marketing. Sharp shapes are used to convey excitement and a dynamic look, angled upwards to signify moving towards a brighter and forward future.
We matched the colors with a white background for more visual clarity towards the audience, coupled with a photo overlay from one of Bernardo's photos volunteering in the FSU. All text are mostly tilted to replicate the shapes with repeating Bernardo headline text in the solid color variations to add focal interest.
The main poster flow includes the main title text, my portrait, tagline, themed icons, website link, QR code, framed photos, and context slides. Our brand is applied across multiple marketing materials such as social media posts, printed publications, press releases, website centers, and in-person community campaigning.
Photography captures who the face behind the name is. This gives the audience a chance to connect with Bernardo. We did tons of variations from formal and expressive to rather questionable shots. Doing an energetic vibe rather than professional makes the brand stand out more, and you get a look of what's Bernardo like first hand.
The studio setup included two Yongnuo YN560IV speedlite flashes, a Godox octabox, and a diffuser gel modifier. Our key light is facing the subject at a 45 degree angle and the back light is placed directly opposite of it. A white bounce diffuser is placed to lift the shadows, while the camera is placed on a tripod for a consistent set of shots.
The website is one of the essential parts of our campaign as it acts as the center of all info from details about Bernardo to his manifesto. Other sections included the main introduction, why vote for me, and faq. It was coded with front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with MS Visual Studio Code, and GitHub.
This approach differs from others as it showcases a custom domain rather than a Google Drive link or templated website. It also enhances the brand and identity of Bernardo's campaign, creating a comprehensive presence throughout.
We collaborated with Fanshawe Print Services and the FSU's Interrobang to produce printed posters, flyers, and advertisements that is shown across the entire campus and college newspaper. The paper sizes used is A3 for the posters and A6 for the flyers. A team executed posting the posters across 5 campuses.
With experience in meeting hundreds of students in events, representing yourself across the entire campus was a totally different beast. Across the two weeks of the campaign, I tirelessly went to all campuses in London, visiting from each building to each floor just to spread the word with the help of my awesome team.
I used a real-life PowerPoint presentation in the form of printed banners that I could flip in four sides to easily show my manifesto. One of the major events I attended as well was the presidential debate among all the candidates, that was livestreamed online. This was an amazing opportunity to share my vision further.
The Fanshawe Student Union is the student body representative of Fanshawe College. The organization is committed to delivering excellent support to its diverse student community through events, advocacy, facilities, academics, finances, and student life. Going into college, I thought I would just pursue my studies then get a job.
But the FSU gave me the opportunity to become my full self, enjoying every moment at Fanshawe, while helping out the community. I started as a red squad volunteer then eventually becoming a class representative, club president, pod leader, open house staff, videographer, and event ambassador, on top of several various roles.
I have served over 10,000 students and volunteered for over 300 hours across 75 events. But why did I decide to run for presidency? It's because I love supporting the community since the beginning, and this could be a great prospect for me to take this dedication further, providing positive impact and bettering student life ten-fold.
